It’s All About Preparation

As I climbed in through the bathroom window the other day, I thought to myself, a) this is going to hurt again and b) maybe I should figure out a place to hide a key. Since I’m chubby and short, it’s hard for me to get through the high window and fall onto the bathroom floor gracefully. To add insult to injury, I usually end up lying on said floor panting from the exertion.

Why am I sharing the story?  I have no clue, well actually I do.  It’s to point out that we should always be prepared. Preparation is what makes those people that you want to slap cause they are always on time, look put together and read the entire memo.

For those of us that crawl through windows and attempt to squeeze through doggie doors, to get back inside the house while the damn dogs bark (from inside), it’s something we have to work on.

Lesson #1 – make a list every night of what you need to get done the next day. Don’t fool yourself into thinking you’ll remember because you will NOT.

My boss, sent me to dozens of organizing classes, big hint that I didn’t get until years later.  The result is that I over-organized everything to the point that no one could find crap in that office.  It was such a beautiful, seemingly well prepared space.  Anyway, this brings me to

Lesson #2 – Get a planner and use it, I write everything down in mine, it works great!  Whether a fancy binder one or a calendar from the dollar store, it does not matter, just use it!!

I would have lesson #3, but I figure you guys are bored by now, so I will continue this list next week!

Blurb

Rugged, quiet, hardworking, Wyatt takes his position as head of the Kinnison family seriously. But the scars of betrayal by the women to whom he once trusted his heart now prompt his stark, simple game plan, and no one in hell is going to convince him any differently. What matters most, besides the welfare of his brothers, is to manage the ranch left to him and never risk his heart again to something as foolish as love—but after meeting Aimee, Wyatt begins to realize that a man should never say never to a determined second grade teacher.

When vivacious, resilient Aimee Worth loses her twin sister in a tragic accident, she makes the choice to live out her sister’s dream of teaching in the small mountain community called End of the Line, Montana, never suspecting she’d meet her Mr. Right in the middle of nowhere—he just doesn’t know it yet. Used to challenges, her spirit shatters the perceptions that have kept him isolated from living life beyond the ranch, proving to him that when it comes to love, the greatest risk is not taking one.

My Thoughts

Rugged Hearts is a good read about two people who are brought together and seem to be kept together by the harsh Montana winter. The sparks fly between Wyatt & Aimee from the beginning and continued through to the end.

This is a good easy love story that makes a perfect summer read in spite of the story being around the Christmas season which makes it a perfect book to bring along with you when on holiday for the summer.

From the beginning you get the feeling that there is a reason for these two to come together.  It becomes clear as the story progresses and it’s a good approach, for these two people who’ve suffered loss in their past.

I enjoyed Aimee’s fresh ‘speak your mind’ way, she was not one to mince words and that helped her get her point across to the closed off man that Wyatt is.

The love scenes are reserved and done well. This is an enjoyable read.
